“An Evening with Rae” will be the official celebration for the launch of Rae’s blog: A Diva Living With AIDS and The PROTECTED Project™. The PROTECTED Project created by Rae Lewis-Thornton, was designed to bring attention to HIV/AIDS and promote prevention through personal responsibility. PROTECTED also emphasizes open communication among sexual partners to change the course of this disease.
An Evening With Rae: Meet, Greet & Tweet is a chance to show your support around HIV/AIDS and the work of RLT. The event starts at 6:00pm. Join RLT as she takes HIV/AIDS education and a message of prevention through personal responsibility to the World Wide Web, Twitter & Facebook.

Rae Lewis-Thornton is an Emmy Award winning AIDS Activist. She rose to national acclaim when she told her story of living with AIDS on the cover of Essence Magazine. As one of the pioneering African-American women with AIDS in the United States, RLT travels the country challenging stereotypes and myths around HIV/AIDS. Her focus is HIV/AIDS education and prevention.
She has been featured in countless magazines such as Essence, Ebony, Emerge, Jet, Glamour and O the Oprah Magazine, as well as numerous news and television shows such as Nightline, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dateline, CNN and Black Entertainment Television (BET) to name a few. RLT has committed her adult life to educating on the topic on HIV/AIDS.
